Children’s Minnesota is the seventh largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Department Overview

 

The Clinical Informatics, Education Development and On-Site Support Department works to advance the effective use of technology by addressing process and workflow challenges, creating education strategies and materials tailored to the user group, as well as providing real-time support to clinicians to gain a better understanding of issues and provide rapid service recovery. This team aligns closely with the ITS clinical applications team, the Center for Professional Development and Practice, and clinicians to provide a high level of service to the organization.

 

Position Summary

This position is the primary end user support of Children’s Cardiovascular (CV) clinical systems. Evaluates end user educational requirements and provides ongoing training as necessary. Works closely with clinical staff, site leadership, IT Application Service Delivery, and physicians to ensure successful implementation of clinical applications and end user orientation and training. Provides feedback to Clinical applications supervisors and managers related to clinical end user interactions of the applications. Assists end users with adaptation of new processes related to system implementations and is able to communicate system changes to applications team if necessary. This position would be stationed on-site and is both a hospital-based and clinic (outpatient)-based, role. Movement between and familiarity with both clinic and outpatient operations and hospital operations is expected.

License/Certification/Registration required? No

Education:
*Requires Associate’s degree in a health care or IT related field. Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.

Experience:
*3-5 years of experience in a combination of Ancillary Medical Services roles and/or Clinical Systems Support Analyst roles
*Experience organizing and delivering Physician training

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

*Practical experience with healthcare and/or clinical applications.
*Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare software applications.
*Knowledge and familiarity with healthcare imaging technology platforms.
*Demonstrated experience working with clinical and technical customers, vendors, peers, and management with demonstrated success and experience building relationships with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.
*Familiarity in the use of Microsoft Windows products (Word, Excel, Access and Project) or equivalent.
*Aptitude for learning new software tools and products.
*Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and various other hospital personnel.
*Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of associates and management.
*Ability to actively contribute within a team-focused environment.
*Ability to work independently and in a fast pace, dynamic environment.
