This position is responsible for assisting with the execution of tennis operations and scheduling responsibilities while ensuring a clean, safe and well-organized environment for patrons during tennis programming.  Candidates will work to continue our commitment to our customers and players, assisting them every step of the way to guarantee a great tennis experience. Candidates must be able to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Supervision Received:

Works under minimal supervision; can set own work sequence and pace within process/department limitations

  • Work cooperatively with Tennis Center administration and staff.
  • Monitors court usage including special events, clinics and lessons.
  • Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities daily prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order.
  • Reports any maintenance problems to the Department Manager or Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide support to tennis center staff, program organizers, volunteers, and/or other participants.
  • Assist with equipment set-up and break-down for programs as needed.
  • Ensures proper usage and rental of the tennis ball machine.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of tennis center activities to ensure health and safety of patrons.
  • Abide by and enforce all State of Georgia and City of Atlanta vehicle operation and safety guidelines.

The proponent will effectively manage a staff comprised of Department of Aviation and consultant project management, construction, and administrative personnel, whose primary objective is to design, build, and maintain airport facilities in a safe and efficient manner.  The Department’s capital program has work divided into numerous areas, or types, of work.

The Director position will be contributing to a team responsible for implementing projects under the direction of the Assistant General Manager for a given area of work.  Typical project value ranges between $1-50 million.  The individual provides day-to-day guidance to staff members on project-related issues; As well as ensures compliance with program processes and procedures and monitors and mitigates risk to project execution.  Performs administrative management functions (i.e., approvals for travel requests, leave requests, etc.).  Provides guidance as required.

These are NOT routine promotional level positions and the specific justification for classification at this level must be documented.

Supervision Received

General Description And Classification Standards

The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) was created to improve how Atlanta manages transportation and its right of way. One of the main goals of the department and the city’s Strategic Transportation Plan is to improve safety on the city’s streets and to improve the experience of pedestrians, transit riders, cyclists, and scooter riders. The GIS Analyst role within ATLDOT’s Strategy & Planning Division will be part of an in-house team that manages internal and external analytics to better leverage data to support the implementation of the strategic plan and improve how the city plans, maintains, and sets policy for its right of way. The Analyst will be responsible for data collection, spatial analysis, mapping and visually representing data, and assisting in the organization and maintenance of a well-curated library of spatial data layers, among other duties. The GIS Analyst will also be responsible for communicating the key takeaways from analysis to senior leaders. This is the Senior level for this job family. This is a fully seasoned professional level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the profession. This level would be attainable by multiple incumbents in a work group (not necessarily by all), but would not be an “automatic” promotional level.

Supervision Received

Will report directly to the Director of Data & Analytics, but will operate under only very general supervision. May regularly work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned. Provides support for ATLDOT Strategy & Planning’s Analytics Team through data collection, data set management and curation, mapping, and spatial analysis. May function as a point of contact for coordination with other City of Atlanta and/or Partner Agency GIS teams or team members. Additional assignments and areas of responsibility may be complex and diverse, including, but not limited to, the construction of custom geoprocessing tools, GIS system design and asset management, modifying or updating complex and extensive GIS environments, and coding and debugging programs.

A capable independent operator comfortable with selecting from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.

Leadership Provided

Offers significant feedback to supervisor in establishing and/or revising new or existing work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc. May provide work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff, or act as a team lead on large projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
