The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health seeks an Associate Project Manager to join the Science Department, a passionate team of professionals managing multi-million-dollar research programs to develop new ways to prevent and treat diseases. The Associate Project Manager is responsible for providing project management support to research programs in the Science Division. This will include collaborating in small internal teams with external funding and research organizations to plan project milestones and budgets, facilitate successful execution, and monitor and report on progress and results that enable the collective success of the FNIH and its partners. The position reports to the Vice President, Science.

The Associate Project Manager will be expected to collaborate with project leads on the successful management of large scientific programs with diverse stakeholders, including:

Building trusting relationships with internal and external colleagues by providing reliable project management support
Collaborating with researchers, funding organizations and internal colleagues to develop project proposals and budgets
Supporting the development and execution of funding and partnership agreements between the FNIH and other research organizations
Facilitating effective communication within research programs by organizing regular meetings and larger convenings to review progress and challenges
Proactively identifying and raising issues that require a response, and following up through resolution
Managing project information, including open actions, deadlines, and interdependencies
Collecting formal project and financial reports from research partners, and preparing formal reports for funders

Successful candidates for the role will be able to demonstrate:

2+ years of professional work experience, including skills that can be applied to project management
Experience working with colleagues with a diverse range of responsibilities and professional and personal backgrounds
Proficiency with managing information in Microsoft Excel

Judgment to work independently and ask for guidance when needed
Confidence taking responsibility for the accuracy of details in work products
