We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer – Copernicus GUI Enhancements to join our team with the Engineering Division.

This is a temporary role not to exceed fiscal year September 30, 2022.

The Software Developer will lead the development of a tool called Open Frames which is used by the Copernicus, trajectory optimization software, developed by EG5.

  • Work in a small team environment alongside NASA software engineers and report to project lead or project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes
  • Code, build, test, and deploy feature enhancements to core products in the Open Frames software portfolio
  • Plan and execute software troubleshooting to resolve bugs
  • Interact frequently with other Jacobs/JETS teams and departments as well as other contractors and civil servants
  • Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions
  • Perform other duties as required

The Business Analyst (BA) performs detailed job analysis of business processes and provides an interface between traditional logistical support organizations and functional requirement definitions. A BA must demonstrate the following:

A Business Analysts may be called upon to partner with other Business Analysts and/or with customer function managers when assembling requirements. Duties: Create, maintain and modify routine programs. Make approved changes by amending program flow charts, developing detailed processing logic, and coding changes. Provide technical analysis for applications and programs that will integrate national and field logistics and financial data. The candidate may recommend and document systemic processing additions or changes to improve the usage of the data across the spectrum of databases and processes. The candidate should be able to provide technical analysis in the development, programming, testing, and implementation phases utilizing SQL and a relational database on the back-end. The candidate should be able to perform technical assessment of the flowcharts, specifications and logic, input/output requirements from business users, reports, and database design logistical processes. Provide content management and documentation support.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Required Experience: Must understand U.S. Army Logistics practices, policies and procedures. Should have efficiency with Oracle RDBMS, SQL and Quest TOAD software.

Preferred Experience: The candidate should be able perform tasks using the InfoSphere Information Server tool set including (but not limited to) DataStage, QualityStage and Information Analyzer. Experience with the design of large Oracle database systems, PL/SQL, Packages and Stored Procedures is desired. Technology:

Qualifications – External
BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related scientific or engineering discipline and three (3) to five (5) years of progressive, relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certifications.

This position requires an active secret clearance.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work area walking moderate to long distances can sometimes be required.

We’re looking for a Telecommunications Systems Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA or capable of working remote with periodic travel who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. This position will provide project leadership opportunities as a telecom discipline lead to work in conjunction with supporting design staff while producing complex design packages. This is done in coordination with architects and other discipline engineers / design leads all under one Jacobs “roof”. You will interface directly with our client counterparts to design these facilities to meet their needs. Our teams leverage AutoCAD and Revit MEP design software to create fully coordinated 3D models across all disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L). Through a mixture of full 3D BIM delivery, construction specifications and 2D sheets, you’ll lead the design of everything from Outside Plant (OSP) to inter / intra-building backbone distribution systems, communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired & wireless device plans and cable schedules.  All facets of the designs and calculations will be completed in accordance with the NEC, applicable TIA and other industry standards as well as Client and/or Jacobs specifications as applicable.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Two-year technical degree or four-year non-technical degree.
  • BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry
  • Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) as applicable to telecommunications design requirements
  • Knowledge & application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards
  • Experience leading a team of telecommunications design team
  • Experience editing design and construction specifications
  • Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
  • Experience estimating and scheduling design efforts for large single-building projects with multiple phases
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam.
