Transit Management Analyst Series /Transit Management Analyst Trainee at MTA Job Description

Associate Transit Management Analyst: $80,386 – $104,082
Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level II: $71,112 – $79,200
Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level I: $61,246 – $72,506
Transit Management Analyst Trainee: $51,017

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist with the production of analytical and documentary reports relating to MOW operations, production planning, ad hoc analyses, audit responses, and divisional performance matters. The candidate will frequently need to liaise with MOW’s subdivisions to collect and verify data and will then meet with operational staff to document and track action plans in response to findings. Written reports and spreadsheets will be created, along with occasional presentations, and the candidate should be familiar at least with MS Office software, and preferably with specifically customized NYCT software like INFOR, the RCCF, STARS, IRAILS, and Power BI. Querying databases and input of data will also be a regular function in the position. The candidate may also be asked to present findings at meetings, and will need to coordinate, schedule, document, and occasionally lead such meetings.

Education and Experience

Associate Transit Management Analyst

1. A master’s degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two (2) years of full time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed above and three (3) years of full-time related experience, of which one (1) year must have been in the transportation industry; or

Assistant Transit Management Analyst: I – II.

1. A master’s degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in ‘1’ above; and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in ‘1’ above.
Note: A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience as described herein
Transit Management Analyst Trainee:
1. A master’s degree from an accredited college in accounting, architecture, business administration, computer science, economics, engineering, engineering technology, finance, industrial psychology, mathematics, physics, public administration, public policy, transportation planning, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area; or
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 credits in one of the areas listed in “1” above.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the overall enforcement of Department of Subways (DOS) customer and employee safety-related policies to optimize the delivery of train service to Transit customers and provide a safe work environment for its employees, in compliance with oversight agency regulations and NYC regulations and NYC Transit policies. Provide executive oversight of the development of safety-related procedures, the training of subway transportation operations and customer service programs, policy interpretation, regulation and Transit policy enforcement, conducting incident and accident investigations and auditing maintenance and related service delivery activities. Draft and distribute Subways bulletins.

Education and Experience

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or a Safety related field and ten (10) years of related experience with at least five (5) in a managerial/supervisory capacity or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

Desired Skills

1. Integral knowledge of Federal OSHA Regulations, NYCT Safety Policies and Safety Training requirements.

2. Extensive familiarity of DOS Emergency Response responsibilities.
