They apply knowledge of geographic information science and technology, statistics, spatial thinking, remote sensing, intelligence issues, and the social and physical sciences to characterize events, discover relationships and trends, and produce geospatial intelligence. These analysts also conduct multi-INT research, conduct descriptive and predictive analyses, populate and exploit intelligence databases, and produce and disseminate intelligence products.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) serves as the world leader in providing timely, relevant, accurate and actionable geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). NGA’s civilian, military and contract personnel evaluate imagery, maps, charts, multiple layers of foundation data – such as terrain, elevation and gravity – and the full spectrum of visible and invisible light in order to help users visualize what is happening at a particular place and time. Duties: 1. Analyze GEOINT to determine interrelationships; help produce timely and accurate reports and products 2. Apply imagery intelligence rules, regulations, or procedures to complete projects 3. Provide imagery analysis in support of policymakers, IC, and international partners 4. Critically evaluate and synthesize data 5. Work in a team environment or embedded within a mission partner’s footprint 6. Mandatory Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, Physical Science, Data Analytics, Cartography, Statistics, or a related field -OR- a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a certificate in GIS from an accredited university. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in GIS, spatial analysis, or any area listed in option A, plus experience working in an Intelligence discipline requiring creating, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data, or related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience working in an Intelligence discipline requiring creating, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENT: Prolonged exposure to video display units

Highly Desired Qualifications

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated expertise applying forensic network analysis tradecraft. 2. Demonstrated proficiency in activity-based intelligence and/or associated geospatial analytic tools and/or methodologies. 3. Demonstrated proficiency conducting holistic GEOINT analysis that incorporates SIGINT, HUMINT, OSINT and other non-traditional GEOINT data sources. 4. Demonstrated proficiency to produce analytic assessments through the discovery of geo-referenced network connections typically not derived from imagery. 5. Demonstrated ability to independently research, evaluate, and synthesize ill-defined problem sets and associated non-traditional GEOINT data.

Additional Job Requirements

You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs. Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.

The selectees will be responsible for responding to initial security incidents, accidents, preparing detailed reports, conducting physical security operations, conducting field interviews, collecting evidence as required, and utilizing a variety of firearms and less-lethal weapons during the execution of their duties. The Office of Protective Services is a 24×7 operation. Police Officers are required to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and are subject to recall on a 24-hour basis. Police Officer candidates must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and under strenuous and potentially dangerous conditions. NGA Police Offices are required to sign a Continued Service Agreement requiring completion of 3 years’ service with the Office of Protective Services. Officers that leave the DoD, NGA, or the IC prior to completing the 3-year period of service may be required to reimburse the Agency for tuition and travel costs associated with required training. UNIFORMS AND APPEARANCE POLICY: NGA Police Officers are subject to uniforms and appearance standards, to include restrictions on tattoos and facial hair. Tattoos, body art, or bands anywhere on the head, face, or neck are prohibited. Additionally, any visible tattoo, body, art, or bands elsewhere on the body that are extremist, indecent, sexist, or racist are prohibited. Male Police Officers must also keep their faces clean shaven while on duty. FLETC WAIVER: Some candidates may be eligible for an initial waiver of the FLETC Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP). Waiver instructions will be provided at the Police Officer Hiring Event. Waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis after a thorough review of an applicant’s request package. Waivers are not guaranteed, and it is possible that as DoD/NGA Police Officer certification requirements and standards change, officers initially granted a FLETC Waiver may be required to attend FLETC UPTP at a future session as a condition of continued employment. Additionally:

1. Per the Lautenberg Amendment, applicants who have been convicted of domestic violence, or are under a restraining (protection) order for domestic violence are not eligible for employment as an NGA Police Officer.

2. Police Officers may be required to take their assigned firearms home.

3. In applying for a Police Officer position with NGA, the applicant consents to and authorizes NGA to perform a preliminary criminal and driving record background check via the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (NLETS), and Law Enforcement Defense Data Exchange (D-DEx) to determine employee eligibility.

4. Successful completion of an NGA accepted police academy is required in order to maintain employment, as mandated by DoD Instruction 5525.15.

5. Applicants are required to take and pass an initial Physical Ability Test (PAT) and medical physical examination conducted by the NGA Medical Unit. Also, applicants must take and pass the written entrance exam, polygraph examination, drug test, and receive a favorable security clearance adjudication before hire. Agency Police Officers are required to take an NGA administered medical exam and fitness test annually, and maintain a “pass” status while participating in random polygraph examinations and drug tests.

6. Applicants are required upon hire, to have a valid driver’s license and must maintain a valid driver’s license throughout their employment with NGA.

7. Applicants may be subject to a psychological examination conducted by the NGA Medical Unit as part of our pre-hire evaluation process.

Additional Job Requirements
You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
