Contact Center Service Team Lead at South Carolina Federal Credit Union Job Description

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Contact Center Service Team Lead to join our team of outstanding Contact Center professionals in North Charleston.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise day to day activities of the Service Team, which encompasses navigating multiple systems to professionally perform complex service task by telephone, chat, and email with a high degree of accuracy and speed in a high-volume, fast-paced contact center environment.
  • Service task include, but are not limited to, assisting with account inquiries, request, research, maintenance, disputes and non-monetary transactions, as well as conducting other service related task.
  • Ensure staff professionally correspond with members and provide superior member service.
  • Meet or exceed established performance objectives and operational standards.
  • Communicate and monitor staff’s performance toward objectives and standards and provide continuous support and coaching, as well as recognition for achievements.
  • Perform administrative functions to include, but not limited to, ensuring that the team’s drawers are properly balanced and closed daily, verifying wire transfers, performing account research, and conducting/participating in audits.
  • Manage member issues/disputes, and ensure thorough and timely resolutions and responses.
  • Address member escalations through Social Media, Lines of Business partners, and Better Business Bureau complaints and inquiry communications.
  • Maintain in-depth product/service and procedure/policy knowledge in order to assist members and support staff.
  • Properly verify members’ identification and ensure confidentiality of members’ information and assure staff’s compliance to the same guidelines.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possess a minimum of two years of similar or related experience within a contact/call center or financial service environment.
  • Possess a minimum of one year demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with members and employees by telephone, email and chat.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve individual and team goals and coach and motivate others to emulate.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and inspire others to enhance performance.

  • Provide required information, register and renew NMLS registration as required by the SAFE Act. (Activities related to mortgage loan applications are not permitted until the registration process is complete.)
  • Generate first and second mortgage loan volume through outside business contacts as well as internal member inquiries; Ensure timely communication and guidance throughout the mortgage process.
  • Counsel and inform members of mortgage products that truly fit their financial needs and build long-term relationships.
  • Identifies issues which may significantly impact member’s ability to close loan and prepares member with alternative action plan.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and discretion in approvals, counter offers and denials.
  • Accountable for providing preliminary disclosures in accordance with regulations.
  • Execute mortgage marketing plan assignments.
  • Responsible for working with internal business partners as requested on external business development.
  • Communicate mortgage service expectations and support of the centralized referral process with Financial Centers.
  • Analyze member’s needs and cross-sell other credit union products & services.
  • Responsible for participating in realtor groups and other community related activities.
  • Attend seminars and community events to keep informed on trends and developments and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possess a minimum of three years of mortgage lending experience within a credit union, bank or mortgage brokerage.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of sales experience with a proven background of meeting and exceeding sales goals.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and evaluate customer and employee needs for financial services, assess the objectives and goals of the individual, then develop an investment strategy to implement.
  • Proactively market and support all aspects of assigned credit union.
  • Identify and develop relationships with Wholesalers.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships based on trust and respect for clients, employees and members.
  • Follow through on the sales goals set forth by the Investment Program.
  • Provide regular feedback to the branch employees, identified credit union executives and sales manager regarding sales practices and business development initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Periodically meets with client to review and update client needs ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan.  Meetings to take place either monthly, quarterly and/or yearly depending on client needs established by Representative.
  • Follow the rules and regulations set forth by the credit union, FINRA, SEC and the broker/dealer.
  • Address and solve business-related challenges as needed.
  • Work with Financial Center Managers to identify and leverage cross-sell opportunities.
  • Drive investment and credit union integration initiatives, e.g. call nights, branch training, etc.
  • Support all product and campaign launches.
  • Represent the firm in relationships with major clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, and other key outside parties.
  • Sets and keeps consistent office hours at designated branch(es).
  • Supports Company Mission and Corporate Values.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possess a minimum of three years’ experience as a licensed registered sales representative.
  • Possess FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 or 65 required.
  • Possess State Life and Health Insurances licenses required.
