Job Summary

Support, motivate and oversee the Inflight Training Team of 20+ Training Instructors. Ensure Spirit Airlines Flight Attendant Training Program meets all regulatory requirements. Revise the content of the Flight Attendant Manual and appropriate sections of the Flight Operations Training Manual, as necessary, to maintain compliance with company and regulatory changes. Approve and assist with development of all Inflight Training programs and material.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures quality of instructional content delivered by routine Instructor assessments and evaluations. Participates in safety debriefs to determine areas of deficiency.
  • Maintain Scheduling Commitments: Directly responsible for scheduling all classroom instruction and training events. Oversees the scheduling assignments for all Inflight Instructors on a month-to-month basis, as required to meet training needs.
  • Support a Team of Instructors: Closely monitors performance of all Inflight Instructors. Responsible for interviewing, hiring and the training of Inflight Instructors. Assumes a proactive role in creating and implementing policies and procedures for entire Inflight Training Department.
  • Serves as a Training Instructor as needed to support company objectives.
  • Courseware and Manual Support: Identifies areas of deficiency within the training curriculum, applicable training materials, forms and documents. Actively contributes to editorial and creative process for all applicable manuals including the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM) and the Flight Operations Training Manual (FOTM) as well as any applicable Bulletins, Revisions and Read Files.
  • Technical: Thorough knowledge of Windows Office products (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Frame Maker). Ability to utilize all available technology to edit and maintain training curriculum.
  • Regulatory: Understanding of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, the 8900 Cabin Safety Subject Index, and how they apply to our training program.
  • Manuals: Thorough understanding of Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), Flight Operations Training Manual (FOTM), and applicable courseware, software, and hardware.
  • Flight Attendant: Mastery of a Flight Attendant’s role and daily job duties.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years Leadership experience required.
  • Previous Instructor, Educator or Facilitator experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain current Spirit Airlines Flight Attendant Certification.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Available for flexible daily scheduling to support Spirit Airlines’ operation.
  • Ability to sit, stand and move throughout office/classroom for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to speak well in public and maintain a positive image for the Inflight Training Department and Spirit.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies.
