About the role:

As the Sr. Quality Control Technician I, you will conduct and perform different biological, chemical and physical analyses on pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials to finished goods including environmental monitoring programs. You will manage environment monitoring, important utility sampling, endotoxin testing, bioburden for raw materials and in process, process samples, microbial identification and final product sterility testing. You will report directly to the Supervisor, Quality Assurance. The work shift is 6:00am to 4:30pm Wednesday through Saturday.

How you will contribute:

  • Collect samples from manufacturing areas to evaluate environmental classification or important utility integrity.
  • Conduct essential biological, chemical and physical analyses such as raw materials, initial, in-process and final products, and samples collected from environmental monitoring programs at the company manufacturing facilities.
  • Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data (such as LIMS system). Perform assays and understand biology and chemistry principles.
  • Complete all testing, including special project/protocol testing.
  • Initiate and obtain applicable approval for test requests.
  • May maintain inventory/supplies necessary to conduct routine testing.
  • Follow continuous improvement practices (QLP, 5S, LEAN)
  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, GLP, QSR and cGMP regulations. Perform release functions in LIMS or other computerized systems.
  • You are a support function to manufacturing operations and is required to coordinate testing activities and communication of results with IG, Fractionation, and Albumin. You will correspond with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Engineering and Maintenance. You may be asked to participate in interdepartmental teams and communicate with different levels of personnel including management and site leadership.
  • You have effectiveness in ability to train others
  • Technical problem-solving skills

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biological science, or other related technical field.
  • Some related experience would be ideal.
  • Advanced laboratory skills and basic knowledge of statistical method.
  • Knowledge of most laboratory equipment including autoclaves, incubators and analytical equipment.
  • Must be proficient in multiple mathematical operations and calculations and be able to work with both the metric and US standards of measurement.
  • Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (can perform complex functions) and PowerPoint.
  • May lift, push, pull and carry up to approximately 25 lbs.
  • In general, your work will be a combination of sedentary work, standing and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

Material Handler at Takeda Pharmaceutical Job Description

SIGN-ON BONUSES up to $1,500 About Takeda Round Lake Site: Round Lake Site is the only site in the United States that fills and packages albumin in a flexible pouch, marketed as Flexbumin, and the only site that is licensed to ship globally. Fexbumin is used to treat trauma patients requiring rapid fluid generation. About the role: As a Material Handler, you will report to a Manufacturing Supervisor and partner with Supply Handlers from the different areas. The Material Handler assists with the movement of Flexbumin between the different stages of inspection to packaging within the value stream. You will use a manual jack along with other power industrial trucks (PIT) to move pallets of Flexbumin. How you will contribute:

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Move pallets to different rooms within the value stream
  • Communicate and work cross-functionally with other departments
  • Receive and distribute supplies into the production area.
  • Follow cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines, and any other regulations.
  • Complete relevant paperwork following GDP/GMP guidelines.
  • Perform daily cleaning of the production area to maintain in GMP fashion.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Associate degree or equivalent, with related experience preferred. Instead of degree, High School Diploma with 1+ year of related manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to work a 12 hour shift (5:00am – 5:30pm or 5:00pm – 5:30pm), in a 2-2-3 rotation.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 30 lbs.

The Production Associate (PA) is responsible for executing all processes in production at Takeda’s manufacturing facility in Round Lake, Illinois, while strictly adhering to cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations which could apply; fully participates in both departmental projects and any quality working teams which may be applicable; under the general direction of the lead technician and the overall direction of the supervisor, responsible for the hands-on execution of all activities in the production area Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports all local manufacturing operations
  • Inspects manufactured product for irregularities or defects
  • Supplies components, small parts, glassware, tubing, etc. to cell culture and purification areas
  • Operates general production equipment (such as labelers, parts washers, autoclave, stir plates, etc.)
  • Completes relevant paperwork following GDP/GMP guidelines
  • Manually cleans all portable equipment and small parts
  • Participates on Continuous Improvement Teams
  • Receives and distributes supplies into the production area as necessary
  • Performs daily cleaning of the production area to maintain in GMP fashion
  • Embody the Takeda Leadership Behaviors
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing and able to work 12 hour shift is 5am – 5:30pm 2-2-3- configuration.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and follow detailed written and oral instructions in the English language
  • Must have basic written and oral communication skills and ability to learn and comply with current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP) regulations
  • Must have 20/20 vision or better within arm’s length
  • Must NOT be colorblind
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical production equipment preferred, including autoclave, DP oven and CIP/SIP
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
  • This position requires shift, weekend and holiday work; overtime will be required at times (typically 2 Saturdays each month)
  • The incumbent may work in a clean room environment, requiring special garments
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn due to safety, cGMP and FDA requirements
  • Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures

Education and/or Experience: Requires AS/AA degree or High School diploma with 0-2 years related manufacturing experience Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Repetitive motions with hands, wrists, turning head, bending at knees and waist
  • Walking within and between quality rooms and packaging rooms, as well as throughout the entire plant

Working Environment:

  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning; will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment
  • May work in a cold, wet environment
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends
  • Must be able to work overtime as required, including Saturdays
  • May be required to work in a confined area
  • May be exposed to some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions
