As an Application Developer on our Orvis Technology team, you will develop and communicate technical plans for new and existing applications, systems architecture, and applications infrastructure. You will present and communicate to all levels of the IT organization, participate in development, and ensure the overall solution is appropriate. Who you will be working with:

You will work with an impactful and highly motivated team of product owners, application developers, engineers, program managers, and architects. You will be responsible for combining technical expertise with best practices and standards to align solutions with business strategy.

  • The estimation and delivery of development and engineering tasks as planned with team product owners and business units as defined in your program increments and sprint cycles.

What you will be working on:

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of one or more platforms (Java, JavaScript, C#, VB, SQL, .Net). The ability to code, test and stage functional products in these environments is a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration, Micro Services architecture, API Architecture including familiarity with Integration Patterns (Messaging, Routing, Data Transformation etc.)
  • Daily hands-on responsibilities to code, test and stage applications and application interfaces consistent with established practices and standards.
  • Responsible for security, performance, manageability, quality, scalability, and consistency of integration architecture across systems
  • Analyze, design, and implement integrations for on-premises and cloud solutions
  • Be a team player and a thought partner to steer the collective technology team to success
  • Able to work with Program Managers, provide information for leadership updates and successfully collaborate to deliver finished products
  • Conduct unit, system and user acceptance testing to ensure quality implementations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions
  • Working knowledge of one or more platforms (Java, JavaScript, C#, VB, SQL, .Net).
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
  • Experience with one or more cloud/SaaS solutions for ERP, CRM, Oracle, Manhattan Associates a plus.
  • 2-5 years’ experience with design and maintenance of enterprise data solutions including expertise in developing complex SQL, stored procedures, functions, and data transformations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of on-premises/cloud-based infrastructures, SDLC pipelines, and deployments/configurations and definition/evangelism of best practices/standards
  • Solid track record working in an Agile environment and a working knowledge of SAFe.
  • Database Management and Administration experience a plus.
  • Sense of humor and desire to have fun while building amazing things.

he Rod Shop Shipper works as part of the warehouse team in the Orvis Rod Shop, and is primarily responsible for the process of shipping fly-fishing rods.  This position also assists in rod production as needed.

Position Interface

This position reports directly to the Rod & Reel Repair Supervisor and will interact with other Rod Shop associates.  This position will communicate daily to the Supervisor regarding work scheduling, status, and issues.

Responsibilities:

  •  Be an ambassador of the Brand and embody the Orvis Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Culture;
  • Pick, pack, and box repairs for shipment;
  • Accurately enter all Rod Shop shipments into the shipping system;
  • Ensure all reports are run at end of day and necessary paperwork has been completed;
  • Key-in tracking if needed;
  • Communicate regularly with Supervisor to resolve any issues;
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area;
  • Complete additional assignments as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Ability to self-manage while using problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Basic computer skills including 35 WPM on the keyboard;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Physical strength to bend and move with agility;
  • Physical strength to lift up to 30 lbs.;
  • Ability to work within a team environment;
  • Willingness to work in other departments as needed, including rod production.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous shipping experience;
  • Experience in a warehouse/factory environment;

The Rod Repair Data Entry Associate is primarily responsible for the data entry of rod repairs. This position also provides support to rod manufacturing as needed. The successful candidate will be willing and able to flex between roles.
